Former Carniny Youth graduate who made a single substitute appearance for his hometown club in April 2014 as Glenn Ferguson rested his first-team for the Irish Cup final.
The 2013 Thirds' Player's Player of the Year progressed through the youth ranks at Ballymena United after spending his formative footballing years at Carniny Youth. Having been part of David Dorrian's 2013/2014 Reserve Team, he was one of the large contingent of young players selected for the final game of the NIFL Premiership season against Ards in April 2014, coming off the bench to replace Steven Hamill for his only senior appearance for the Sky Blues.
After failing to break through into the first team at the Ballymena Showgrounds the following season (2014/2015), Jake left in search of pastures new - eventually signing with Gary Haveron's newly promoted Carrick Rangers in August 2015 but did not make a single first team appearance at Taylors' Avenue. In January 2016, he moved to Championship 2 side Glebe Rangers but couldn't prevent Jason Wilmot's side from relegation from the Northern Ireland Football League.
In July 2016, Carson dropped down to the second division of the Ballymena Saturday Morning League to sign for Southside Rangers.
