Teenage midfielder who made a single appearance for the first team in April 2014 under Glenn Ferguson.
Black graduated from the ranks of Carniny Youth, joining Ballymena United Under-17 team ahead of the 2001/2012 season. Following a successful first season at the senior club, he was selected to join Clifford Adams' Under-19 squad for the 2012 Foyle Cup ' and was part of the team that finished runners-up to Hibernian.
During his time at his hometown club, Black featured mostly for the Thirds and Reserves but made his single first-team appearance like many of his peers during the final game of the 2013/2014 season against Ards in April 2014, with Glenn Ferguson resting his entire first team for the impending Irish Cup final the following week. Midway through the following season, the 19-year-old midfielder was released to join Championship 2 side Moyola Park in January 2015 with the opportunity of regular senior football.
Two years at Mill Meadow under Mervyn Pattison, before his former coach Clifford Adams lured him to Moyola's tenants, Wakehurst in January 2017 as they chased promotion back to the NI Football League following relegation to the Ballymena Premier Intermediate League.
