Match Report
GLENTORAN bounced back from their weekend cup upset to comprehensively defeat Ballymena United at The Showgrounds.
Under the guidance of temporary boss Roy Coyle the Glens started brightly with Jason Hill and Stephen Carson going close from distance.
But it was left to Colin Nixon to break the deadlock eight minutes from time when he headed a Carson corner past Dwayne Nelson.
Andrew Waterworth almost made the most of a defensive tangle between the Nelson and defender Tony Kane.
He made amends on 74 minutes, however, with a finish from 15 yards.
Then, with nine minutes to go, Sean Ward completed the scoring from an acute angle after being teed up by former Sky Blue player Eamonn Murray.
