Match Report

Ballymena United ended the season with victory over Portadown at the Showgrounds but it wasn't enough to secure a place in the European play-offs.

Portadown moved in front inside the opening minute through Ruairi Croskery when an attempted clearance from Conor Keeley came off him and nestled in the back of the net.

United levelled on 14 minutes after Shay McCartan connected with a Ryan Waide cross from the left to head past Gareth Buchanan but the Ports regained the advantage soon after courtesy of Sam Warde's low free-kick through a packed box.

Back came Ballymena to equalise again just before the break through Trai Hume with an unstoppable effort before second half goals from Keeley and Ryan Harpur sealed the win for David Jeffrey's side.

Conor Keeley edged the Sky Blues in front on 67 minutes with a superb strike from almost 30 yards into the top corner, with Ryan Harpur adding a fourth soon after with a header.
